The Elbert County Office of Emergency Management will offering the Be Ready Course, a series of Personal Preparedness classes in which you learn the fundamentals of how to self-sustain in an emergency or disaster situation.
The course covers preparing and planning for an emergency, recognizing hazards within your community, and pandemic planning. In addition this course also offers basic fire sagety and terrorism awareness.

The courses are day-long on Wednesday and Thursday, and 1/2 day on Friday. The schedules and contact information are posted below.

Will Child Clinics provided at no cost for children birth to 5 years old. Services provided: Screening, physicals and minor sick care. Screening include hearing, vision, nutrition , behavioral, development, height and weight. Dental screening can be arranged. Children older than 5 years seen as scheduling permits. Immunizations available on site for $10 each. Please bring shot records.

A barbecue and auction follow the roping. Families are invited to attend Western Family Fun Day at noon on Sunday, August 10."
