The 2010 election cycle includes district elections for the local municipal, metropolitan and special districts. Metropolitan and special district elections will be held Tuesday, May 4th between 7 AM and 7 PM. Applications for Mail-in-Ballots must be received by the District Designated Election Officials (DEO) no later than close of business, by mail Tuesday, April 27, 2010, or by hand delivery by Friday, April 30, 2010. Those interested in running for and serving on the Board of Directors of a district in which they are a member must have filed their Self-Nomination and Acceptance Form with the DEO previous to close of business, Friday, February 26th. This street fair kicks off with a parade at 10 AM, and booths from local businesses, non-profits, clubs and associations. Antiques, art, crafts, food, handmade goods, services and unusual products will be on display. Booth set ups begin at 8 AM and complete by 9:30 AM in preparation for the parade. Booth sizes will be 10x10 for $40 or 10x20 for $70, with some spots 5x10 for $25 being available. Non-profit organizations will recieve a free 10x10 space. Because weather in Elbert County is typically quite busy this time of year, please consider coming prepared with cinder blocks to stabilize tables, umbrellas and tents.
