Elber County Update 2010 09 20

The listing of websites has been moved to the end of the calendar and alphabetized. It's getting long.
**
This Wednesday's BOCC meeting is scheduled to include the hearing to approve two new metropolitan districts for Elbert County: The Elizabeth 86 Residential & the Elizabeth 86 Commercial Metropolitan Districts. Interestingly enough, these districts have been "fast tracked" through the county process. If you are concerned about metropolitan districts, from their management, taxing capabilities, and the serious lack of oversight that often accompany them, you may want to attend. The staff reports and the agenda for the BOCC meeting are located here: http://www.elbertcounty-co.gov/meeting_detail.php?id=529&typeid=8.
**
Saturday will be a busy, busy day in Elbert. The Elizabeth Firefighter Foundation's Charity Shoot, the Praying Hands Ranch's Pedals & Hoofs Fundraiser, A Day for Art in Kiowa, The Australian Shepherd Association Confirmation Shows and Stock Trials, the Elizabeth Farmer's Market, and the Elbert County Democrats Dinner!
