Elbert County, the 911 Authority Board, Fire Protection Districts and local Towns have teamed up to implement the reverse 911 notification system using CodeRED. The opt-in system will alert residents by phone when specific triggers are met, such as evacuation orders, tornado or flash flood warnings, chemical spills, gas leaks, etc. CodeRED's intent is to geographically target calls, and using an automated telephone calling system, deliver a relevant pre-recorded message directly to homes and businesses at the rate of up to 60,000 calls per hour. To participate, please visit http://www.elbertcounty-co.gov and look for the CodeRED icon directly below the menu bar on the left side of the home page. For family, friends and neighbors who do not have internet, registration may also be completed by calling 303-805-6131.
