THE GABRIEL FOUNDATION - THE PUEBLO RESCUE
On January 20, 2010, The Gabriel Foundation was involved in the rescue of 42 parrots in Pueblo Colorado. The conditions at the home were horrific; no heat, no running water, no working toilet, filth. Please watch the following YouTube video to see how The Gabriel Foundation, located in Elizabeth, CO helped to save these birds. When you're done, please forward this link to anyone you know who cares about the welfare of all living creatures.
Would you like to volunteer at TGF? The Gabriel Foundation will be holding another Volunteer Orientation on Sunday, February 7th from 12:00 PM until 2:30 PM at the Aviary and Adoption Center, located @ 39520 County Road 13, Elizabeth, CO. Please download a volunteer application from the website: www.thegabrielfoundation.org and bring it with you. You will receive a history of The Gabriel Foundation, take a tour of the facilities, learn how to understand parrot body language, and find out how volunteers can make a difference for the birds. RSVP to volunteers@thegabrielfoundation.org if you are able to attend.
The Gabriel Foundation is a 501(c)(3) avicultural and veterinary affiliated non-profit parrot welfare organization providing for the needs of parrots everywhere through each of its seven programs: Education outreach, adoption, rehabilitation, long term foster care, sanctuary, rescue and conservation. Tax ID 84-1396085

Excerpt from the West Elbert County Sun: Marine Lance Corporal Kade Hinkhouse was severely injured in Ramadi, Iraq, when his HUMVEE hit an IED. The injury occurred in 2005. For the benefit of LCpl Hinkhouse and his wife Becky, "Home for Our Troops is partnering with Ace Hardware of Highlands Ranch, 9579 S. University Blvd., Ste. 100, to build [a] house in Elizabeth that will be donated to LCpl Hinkhouse upon its completion."
Home for Our Troops and Ace Hardware "will hold a volunteer registration day at the Highlands Ranch Ace Hardware on Tuesday, January 26th, from 10 AM to 8 PM with a presentation at 6 PM. The non profit's schedule is broken into three parts: a three day build brigade where professional tradesmen will build the structure and foundation, followed by interior work including electrical and plumbing and then, approximately 90 days later, a key ceremony where ownership of the home will be turned over to the Hinkhouse's.
Homes for Our Troops has turned over ownership of 50 homes to veterans nationwide and currently has another 30 home projects in process."
Additional information about Homes for Our Troops may be found at http://www.homesforourtroops.org
