The Elbert County Fair is in full swing. If you have not had the pleasure of checking out the exhibits, the livestock and the competition, I recommend it! The schedule is located at http://www.elbertcountyfair.com/.
*
The East Elbert Stockmen and Merchants, started in 2006 by Joe Foster and Jim Fulmer, are seeking donations to purchase 4-H livestock at the Elbert County Fair, process the meat and distribute it to deserving families. In 2006, Mr. Foster and Mr. Fulmer raised $2,000 with which livestock was purchased and distributed through local churches and Big Sandy School. Donations in 2008 made it possible to purchase more livestock and distribute to more families. For more information, or to make a donation, please contact Joe Foster at 719-541-2594 or Kim Casey at 303-648-0086. Checks may be mailed to East Elbert Stockmen and Merchants, 31657 County Rd. 74, Simla, CO 80835.
