On Wednesday, February 17th, at 6PM, a public workshop will be held by the Elbert County BOCC regarding the future development of the Elbert County Fairgrounds. The discussion will include improvements to the fairgrounds. Any citizen of Elbert County is invited to attend and participate in the discussions. The meeting will be held in the Exhibit Hall at the fairgrounds.

Peace in Christ's 7th Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner will be held Tuesday, February 16th, 5 - 7 PM at the sanctuary meeting hall, 236 Tabor St., Elizabeth. "Proceeds from the annual dinner will go to benefit the Andy Yancey family with medical expenses incurred from a fall that left Andy with head and neck injuries late last year...The family has been a longtime community supporter and was without insurance at the time of the fall." Donations may be made to the family through checks made out to Peace in Christ Donation Account at Bank of Choice or through the church. Cost is $7.50 per person or $20 per families of four or more (contact information listed below).

In addition, Praying Hands Ranch's 21st annual fundraiser, the Sweetheart Spaghetti Dinner, will take place this Saturday, February 20th, from 6 PM to 10 PM at the ranch, located at 11892 E. Hilltop Rd., Parker. Adults, $20, children 12 and under $8. Praying Hands Ranch is a Christian, non-denominational, non-profit, charitable organization working in a therapeutic ranch environment serving the needs of mentally, emotionally and physically challenged children, adults, troubled youth, and veterans, using therapists, certified riding instructors and loving volunteers. All proceeds from the dinner go to Praying Hands Ranch in Parker (contact information listed below).
