Books from favorite authors. Story time is a great way to develop early literacy skills. Story time is interactive and gives young children a chance to interact with other children and adults. Story time includes reading stories, talking about books, and doing a hands on activity. Story time usually lasts about 30 minutes. Parents and caregivers can also take time to meet other families and check out some books to read at home.

The Elbert Woman's Club holds its monthly all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast on the fourth Sunday of each month. 2011 breakfasts will be held each month except April and Dec. Breakfast is at the Russell Gates Mercantile Community Hall from 8a-1pm. Cost is $6 adults/$3 children. Biscuits and gravy, ham, eggs, pancakes, sausage, coffee/tea and orange drink are included. Proceeds support renovation and maintenance of the Hall, as well as other Club community activities. The Hall is located on Elbert Road and built in 1906. The Elbert Woman's Club has provided support to the Elbert community since 1929.
